Mundekulla Vipassana Retreat , Småland, Sweden 6.-14. september 2016

The retreat was conducted by the Danish Vipassana teacher Uffe Damborg, teaching in the line of Mahasi Sayadaw and Anagarika Munindra and arranged by Norther Light Vipassana Society.

A retreat with intensive practice of insight meditation (Vipassana bhavana) and lovingkindness meditation (Metta bhavana) rooted in the tradition of Theravada Buddhism. Arranged by Northern Light Vipassana Society with a daily schedule of sitting, walking and eating meditations. Addressing beginners as well as experienced meditator.

Kerteminde Vipassana Retreat, Denmark from 20.-28. June 2014

This retreat was conducted by Joseph Goldstein (USA) and Uffe Damborg (DK), teaching in the line of Mahasi Sayadaw and Anagarika Munindra rooted in the tradition of Theravada Buddhism. The Kerteminde Vipassana Retreat was  arranged by the Northern Light Vipassana Society and attended by 105 retreatants from all over Europe. Eleven videoes of instructions and Dhamma speeches were recorded from the retreat (see next page).

The retreat took place at Danhostel, Kerteminde at the northern part of the island Funen in Denmark.

Joseph Goldstein and Uffe Damborg were very early long time students of renowned Vipassana teacher, Anagarika Munindra at Bodh Gaya in India. At this retreat in Denmark they were teaching together in homage to this great teacher, who is rightly regarded today as one of the grandfathers of the whole mindfulness movement in the West.

Uffe Damborg (left) studied with Munindra in Bodh Gaya from 1968 to 1975. Joseph Goldstein studied with Munindra in Bodh Gaya most of the time from 1967 to 1974.

Vipassana Meditation and Yoga, Sweden, from  5.–12.July 2013

Bhante Rahula was born in California and ordained as a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka in 1975. He lived there ten years studying and practicing mindfulness/vipassana meditation with different teachers and living alone in secluded hermitages. He also studied yoga with Swami Gitananda in South India. His teaching integrates the practice of yoga and meditation. Since 1987 Bhante Rahula has been residing and teaching at the Bhavana Society Forest Monastery in West Virginia, USA, with Bhante H. Gunaratana. He also travels extensively and conducts meditation retreats in Germany and many other parts of the world including Ladakh. Bhante Rahula has written four books: an autobiography entitled, One Night’s Shelter; The Way to Peace & Happiness, a comprehensive study of the Buddha’s Teaching;
Breaking Through the Self-Delusion, a small booklet on vipassana meditation and
Traversing the Great Himalaya, a photo documentary of a spiritual pilgrimage in the Himalaya. Location: Fredrika, a small village in southern Lappland, 108 km west of Umeå, Sweden

Røsnæs Vipassana Retreats, Kajestenhuset, Denmark, every year since 2011 – 

Since the summer 2011 a number of 9-days  and 12-days Vipassana retreats were conducted  by Uffe Damborg at Kajestenhuset in Røsnæs, Denmark.
